Classy Adventures

Study of Ancient Runes

Welcome welcome! It's time for another adventure that I've been awaiting for a while. Shall we embark on it together?

Now if you're new to this blog, why don't we review a little! I am Ilan Kim bringing you another edition of Classy Adventures! If you haven't already guessed due to the title, this blog is about... the different classes taught at the castle! There will be information on these classes, some cool aesthetics, and even a little section where you get to help fill in the blanks! Anyway, let's look into our class for today which is... Study of Ancient Runes or shortened to SoAR!

What was Study of Ancient Runes like many years ago? Did people still learn about all the runic alphabets and their meanings? Well well! If you've been wondering this, you've come to the right place.

Study of Ancient Runes (or also simply called Ancient Runes) began off as an elective at Hogwarts that anyone could take starting their third year until their seventh. This subject was known for being pretty theoretical.

Back in the day, most of the class was learning the meanings of all the different runes and translating them into English or English into runic languages. Numbers were also represented with different symbols.

Nowaways, Ancient Runes is still an elective and is still taught from Years 3 to 7. You can find the classroom on the sixth floor and the subject is taught by Professor Clio Palmer. Let's hear what our professor says about the subject!

"No, this isn't the one where you learn about boring runes; who even said that? Actually, maybe it is. But please do come by, and I promise you, it'll not be as boring as you think. In class, we'll learn about runic alphabets, numbers, and even look at modern runes if you choose stay long enough. Exploring runes is almost like learning a whole different language—I mean, imagine being able to encode your messages, doesn't that sound cool now? So do stop by if you think you might have a flair for lazy noons and old, old runes!" - Clio Palmer

SoAR sounds so cool and interesting, right? Make sure to take a trip to the classroom!

Ah, now, shall we enjoy some wonderful aesthetics?

Thank you to the lovely Clio Palmer for contributing to some of these aesthetics!

Every new edition, there's going to be a little... adventure! This will consist of a character (note: these characters are NPCs and do not actually exist on site) having an adventure at the featured class of the week! But I'm going to need your help! How? It's up to you to fill in the blanks. Have you ever heard of mad libs? Well, that's what we're going to be doing. Each week, there will be adjectives, nouns, all those fun stuff for you to fill out in the comments and one person's suggestions will go into the next week's adventure!

And thank you so much to everyone who filled out the mad lib last week! And this week, thank you Amelia Williams for filling it out and congratulations on being featured. Ready for the adventure?

Runes. This was the class that Alcaeus had signed up for… because his grandmother's best friend's dog had pressured, or one could say slightly forced into it. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the class, it was just that sometimes he had trouble with it. A runic bubblegum hunt? Alcaeus threw the classroom, looking for the clues. He scampered around and behind a ukulele and sure enough, there was a clue. But what did it mean? The rune letter was almost staring up into Alcaeus’s right elbow and it was utterly… sad. “I know it’s Algiz…” the student muttered under his breath. But he just couldn’t remember the meaning. Then, his eyes caught an egg yolk on the wall. “Oh!” He cried out to himself. “It’s… frayed wires!”

HILARIOUS RIGHT?

Would you like a chance to have what you would put in the blanks featured? Well, well, next week's adventure is a surprise but whatever you might comment could definitely change the story a little! So make sure to fill this out in the comments!
  • age
  • verb
  • adverb
  • plural noun
  • verb
  • body part
I cannot wait to see what next week's adventure turns out to be and what it's like but I guess we'll have to find out! Don't forget to fill out the blanks in the comments- OH and did I mention that everyone who fills in the blanks gets a prize? So go go!

Well, well, I hope you've had a wonderful time reading this blog- I've had a great time writing it! Make sure to stay tuned for the next post and next adventure in two weeks!

Thank you for reading and make sure to go do your SoAR homework!
